6-17-03 East Central MN Mini-Chase Finally, thunderstorms in Minnesota in Melanie's backyard! Ok, so they weren't severe, but they were beautiful! |
On the drive home going through Maple Grove, MN on I-94 West
Later in the night just North of Elk River, MN
I finally found an exit on a hill to catch the sunset |
Towers went up to my Northwest on my drive home from work. |
The sunset with edge of towers was too gorgeous to pass up! |
After I walked the dogs and the night grew darker, the storms approached my house in Elk River, MN. To my surprise, a nicely striated base with a wall cloud appeared amongst the flashes. |
The striations were very apparant even in the dark |
A nice inflow band developed before the cell quickly weakened |
The cell became very elevated with a nice rain core |
And remained electrified as the night wore on |
